Bollywood-actor-Amitabh-Bachan-mistaken-for-Salman-Khan-1

Twitter has recently removed the Blue Tick from verified accounts, and now only those who pay for Twitter Blue are allowed to keep the verification badge. While some users have expressed disappointment and refused to pay for the subscription, others who have paid for it have not received the Blue Tick, including Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan. On Friday, Bachchan made a humorous public appeal to Twitter, asking them to immediately give him his verification badge back.

It appears that the platform takes some time to add the Blue Tick even if a user pays the $8 fee. Bachchan took a dig at Twitter, asking what else he could do to get his badge back. He sarcastically begged with folded hands and even offered to touch “Twitter’s” feet if that wasn’t enough. Bachchan explained that the Blue Tick is essential to ensure that people know who the real Amitabh Bachchan is and whether they are following the right person on the platform.

Twitter’s owner Elon Musk had announced earlier that all accounts would lose the Blue Tick from April 20 and that users would have to purchase the Twitter Blue subscription to retain the badge. The subscription costs Rs 900 for Android and iOS users and Rs 650 through the Twitter website on a browser.

Several other popular personalities like Vir Das, Nargis Fakri, Prakash Raj, Shah Rukh Khan, and Ravi Kishan also lost their Blue Tick verification. This new policy is not limited to India, as even global accounts like Bill Gates and Selena Gomez have lost their Blue Tick.
