In an interview with GOODTiMES, Madden shared what it was like working with Chopra on Citadel. He praised her creativity, passion and intelligence, and said that working with her pushed him to bring out the best in the script and to challenge himself. He compared their dynamic to that of their characters, saying that they sparred together and asked a lot of each other, which helped to elevate the storytelling.
